Author Guidelines

Scope and article types

CAJII accepts original research, critical reviews, short communications and documented educational practice reports on innovation in education. The contribution to teaching, learning or teacher education must be explicit. Work on natural science, engineering, sport, military service or literary history without an educational research or practice focus is outside the current scope. Previously published archive articles remain part of the journal's historical record.

Download the article template

Download the CAJII article template (.docx). Prepare the main manuscript in DOCX and remove all grey instructions. Leave the journal header placeholders for the editors. PDF and HTML publication versions are prepared after editorial approval.

Title, abstracts and keywords

Use sentence case for the title, normally up to 20 words; retain proper names and abbreviations. Include an English title, a 150–250-word English abstract and 4–7 keywords, including the educational context. For Uzbek or Russian manuscripts, also provide the title, abstract and keywords in that language. The abstract states the aim, method, findings and implications for education; it contains no references.

Manuscript structure

Research articles normally contain Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusion. Explain the educational problem, research questions, design, participants or sources, procedure, analysis, findings, limitations and practical implications. Reviews describe how sources were selected and analysed; practice reports describe the educational setting, implementation and evidence. Adapt the headings to the article type without inventing research results.

References, tables and figures

Use APA 7, alphabetic reference order and available DOIs or stable URLs. Research articles should normally include at least 15 relevant sources, as specified in the template. Cite every table and figure in the text, number them consecutively and provide captions. Supply readable figures and editable tables; obtain permission for third-party material where required.

Authors and declarations

Enter each author's full name, affiliation, country, contribution and available ORCID in the submission form, and identify the corresponding author. Declare funding, conflicts of interest, data availability and any use of generative AI. AI tools cannot be authors. For research involving people, describe ethical approval where applicable and informed consent.

Files and double-blind review

Upload an anonymised main manuscript: remove names, affiliations and identifying document properties. Upload author details on a separate title page. Authors must approve the submission, which must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. Editors check the educational scope and basic requirements before independent double-blind review. Respond to revision requests through the same submission.

Fees and publication

Submission and publication are currently free. Authors retain copyright; published articles use CC BY 4.0. Editors assign the issue, publication date and page range after acceptance. Please check the final PDF and HTML proof when requested.

Submission Preparation Checklist

  1. The work fits the current educational scope, is original, is not being considered elsewhere, and all authors approve submission.
  2. The main DOCX uses the linked CAJII template and is anonymised; author details are supplied separately.
  3. English title, 150–250-word abstract and 4–7 keywords are supplied, together with the manuscript-language versions where applicable.
  4. References, tables, figures and available DOIs follow the Author Guidelines.
  5. Funding, conflicts of interest, ethics, data availability and any use of generative AI are declared.

Research Articles

Original research on teaching, learning, educational technology or teacher education. State an educational question, reproducible methods, evidence, limitations and implications for educational practice.

Review Articles

Critical or systematic reviews of education research. Explain source selection, synthesise the evidence and identify implications for teaching, learning or teacher education. Historical and literary reviews require an explicit connection to education.

Short Communications

Concise reports of educational research, teaching methods or educational tools. Include the educational context, method, supporting evidence and limitations; distinguish preliminary findings from planned work.

Case Studies

Documented studies of educational practice in classrooms, teacher education or institutions. Describe the context, implementation, ethical considerations, evidence of outcomes, limitations and transferable lessons.
